HTML5 Upgrade to Stillorgan Shopping Centres website - stillorganshoppingcenter.ie
Visit the site today stillorgan-sc.ie and make a plan to visit the centre!
We've just completed an update to Stillorgan Shopping Centres
website. This included a complete upgrade of the site code to HTML5.
The
site was originally developed by Graphics IT using standards driven
XHTML and CSS. This development approach ensured that content and
structure were completely separated.
In the past when
clients requested wholesale changes to the layout of a site it would
mean long hours re-coding and re-developing. With a site developed in
the right way this is not the case any more.
We were
able to strip out the raw content elements, update the HTML5 container
then rewrite the stylesheet and a new site emerged.
The
shop search function, which uses ajax, got a new more user centred
look. Based on traffic patterns, the navigation options were slimmed
down and strong new quick link graphics we're added to the site.
Behind the scenes the centre management have been doing their bit with weekly tweets from @stillorgansc about deals and news worthy events in the Centre. All of this work has paid off with with a 300% + increase in monthly traffic.
The
outcome to the latest chapter of this web project is a perfect example
of how hand in hand incremental investment and developing to standards
can reap rewards.
